On lead vocals and lead guitar, Londoner Paul has been playing and singing Rock ’n’ roll since the age of 17 when he answered an advert in the 'Melody Maker' that led him to join Gina & the Rockin’ Rebels (who later became The Strollers) as lead guitarist and featured vocalist.
After almost constant touring in the UK, Europe and Scandinavia and many appearances on record, radio and TV, Gina retired from the circuit in 1997 after which Paul took centre stage with the remaining members, reforming The Strollers as a three-piece with drummer Billy Sloane.
Paul had always wanted a fourth member to give the band the depth and range of the 1990’s line up, so when Billy left to pursue a career as a DJ, Paul took the opportunity after an impromptu support set with Lol, Brian and Jim to establish the first new four-piece line up in 2003.
After a varied selection of guitars in the 70’s Paul has owned his trademark black 1956 Gretsch Duo-Jet (as used by Cliff Gallup, Vincent fans) since 1981 and plays it though a 1977 Marshall 100W superlead amp and a 1960’s Hiwatt heavy duty 4x12 bass cab.
